Enjoy Carols Round the Tree in The Secret Gardens

Candlelit carol singing will be one of the highlights of the festive celebrations at the award-winning Secret Gardens of Sandwich at The Salutation this yuletide.

The choir from Pfizer UK will lead the singing, as locals join in the usual festive favourites, sung around a giant Christmas conifer at the Secret Gardens, in Knightrider Street, Sandwich.

Carollers will be sustained with mulled wine and mince pies (subject to availability) at the free event, which runs from at 5.30pm to 6.00 pm approx. on Friday, December 18.  Any donations will be welcome and will go to Epilepsy Research UK.

The service has been timed to coincide with staff shutting shop for the year and visitors getting ready to head home for the evening.

Stephanie Parker of The Secret Gardens said: “We always have a huge Christmas tree, with more than 400 bulbs, and this gives us the perfect opportunity to share it with the local residents and visitors, who can join with us and the staff here in singing their favourite carols.”

The Secret Gardens, which were recently voted joint winners in the Leisure and Tourism sector of a media £1 Million Business Challenge, are open seven days a week throughout the year, but close for the Christmas holiday after the Carols reopening on 4th January 2010.
