Chocolate Treats in The Gardens this Easter
Easter is almost upon us and everyone’s thoughts are turning to chocolate!
This year, instead of giving the traditional chocolate eggs, why not show your initiative and treat your loved ones to a day out with a difference?
The Secret Gardens of Sandwich, situated alongside the quay in this historic cinque port, are a delight to visit – and you don’t need to miss out on the chocolate either!
There’s a free Easter Bunny Trail from 11- 3 on Easter Sunday, with lots of lovely chocolate prizes for the children and our famous chocolate cream tea is a must for all chocoholics.
With chocolate-filled sandwiches, chocolate scones, brioche, and chocolate cake to die for, this calorie-crammed alternative to the traditional cream tea is fast becoming a favourite in the gardens’ stylish tea rooms, evocative of the Edwardian era.
The Secret Gardens of Sandwich are a delight to visit at any time of year, but never more than in March and April when a vast array of more than 40,000 bulbs will welcome the onset of Spring.
If you can’t get there in person, a selection of gorgeous gift vouchers allows you to give a personalised gift of your choice – from champagne and cream teas (chocolate or plain!) to admission to the gardens throughout the year. Vouchers can also be exchanged for plants and other gardening gifts on sale at The Secret Gardens.
The vouchers are sure to be a delight to all discerning gardeners and come in an attractive gift wallet, starting from just £5.
The Secret Gardens were Jekyll designed and have been lovingly restored at a cost of more than £2 million by the present owners after years of thorough neglect.
Open throughout the year, there is a wide variety of things to see including a Tropical Border, Spring Garden, Vegetable, Kitchen, White and Yellow Gardens.
The Secret Gardens are open seven days a week. Admission to the Tea Rooms is free.
To be sure of a table telephone 01304 612730 to book.
